Golf Foundation

0103GolfFoundation2The PGA supports the work of the Golf Foundation and its Members help it to deliver a wide range of opportunities for young people to take up the great game of golf.

Founded in 1952, The Golf Foundation delivers its activities through the HSBC Golf Roots programme, which aims to support projects across the board, in schools, clubs and communities.

This has evolved into the most successful junior golf development programme in the British Isles – in the period of April 2014 to March 2015 there was a 45% increase in junior memberships brought about by Golf Foundation activity.

The Foundation works within the Start, Learn, Stay motto and has set a series of goals to be achieved by March 2018.

More than 800 PGA pros are currently signed up to deliver the Junior Golf Passport, a coaching and learning programme from the Golf Foundation.

The passport, which focuses on helping youngsters to get ready for regular play at golf clubs, offers a significant coaching and business resource for clubs and pros and is the official learning programme for the England Golf Partnership and Golf Development Wales.

The scheme is designed by coaches for coaches, and features innovative thinking from coaching professionals and expert support from The PGA.
